Democrats Have Strong Showing at the Owen County Fair |

Whether it was the children's popular choice of balloons, the free prize drawings, or the video display showing community images of our party members, one could not help but notice the Democrat booth space down at the fair this year.
The Owen County Fair has come and gone and we have many people to thank who contributed to our success in many ways--we hope we don't leave anyone out.
Our 2005 Fair Committee Chairman was Bob Siscoe. He had help
from several committee members, specifically Cindy Hyde, Larry
Newton, Kristin Szczerbik, Pam Hageman, and Brian Crowe.
We doubled our booth space this year and appreciate the patience of the setup crew as well as their help in setting up the booth space. We thank Dean Wells, of Edward Jones Investments in Spencer, for relocating in the Commercial Building, thus opening up the adjacent booth space next to our usual spot.
Rich and Debbie Foutch along with David Gohn rounded out the
setup with the balloons and securing several armed services
flags that were graciously loaned to us by Bob and Julie Bandy.
Kristin Szczerbik was very instrumental in putting our
projection display ideas onto a CD for viewing at the fair. We
thank her as well as those who provided images for the show.
We thank all of the volunteers who worked each shift at the booth.
We appreciate Vern Tincher's visit along the many goodies he
brought with him to pass out.
We want to congratulate all of our nightly free prize winners
and all of the folks who donated prizes to be given away each
night. A special drawing was held for a boys and a girls
bicycle helmets donated by Harley and Janice Melton.
We congratulate the dozen children who won ride armbands and
those who contributed money toward the purchase of those
armbands.
Our Raffle fundraiser was a great success! We appreciate the efforts of our "sales" team--our precinct officials, officeholders, supports,
and many others--who spent time asking others to support our party and by purchasing tickets.
The winners of our Raffle are as follows:
GRAND PRIZE = $300 worth of Babbs Groceries = Mark Snapp
2nd PRIZE = $30 Crystal Flash Gasoline Card = Melva Needham
3rd PRIZE = $30 Crystal Flash Gasoline Card = Ann Henk
We thank everyone who purchased tickets and were a part of our
raffle. We thank the vendors for allowing us the opportunity as well, especially Rob Babbs.
We parked cars for the Fair Board again this year. JoAnn Ligon
led our efforts there along with several volunteers. These volunteers stood out in the rain Thursday night and we very much appreciate their loyalty.
Once again, our party supported the 4-H Livestock Auction. A pair of chickens raised by Eddie Hyde were purchased for $150.
We had several volunteers help take tickets for the Main Arena
event Tuesday evening and appreciate their hard work.

Lastly, we thank those who helped tear down our booth and clean
up our space at the fair Sunday afternoon.
We sincerely hope we have not left anyone out and are thankful
for everyone's contribution. A lot goes into this project and
we cannot do it without you.
